Imagine at Halcyon Gallery

London, UK
2019
An immersive retrospective of interactive artworks

"This winter, the relationship between technology, art and human interaction is being redefined at the Halcyon gallery with the opening of Dominic Harris’s hugely anticipated exhibition Imagine. The artist, who has been featured to great acclaim at both the V&A and the Grand Palais in Paris, has now launched his first extensive and fully immersive show on London’s Bond Street. You won’t be able to miss it: projected onto the Halcyon’s five-storey facade is his largest digital art projection to date, a bespoke commission from the gallery. It’s free, it’s fun, it’s family-friendly – and it will rewire the way you think about the world around you." - Extract from exhibition review by The Upcoming

‘Like Warhol, Harris’ inspiration and social commentary also draws on the iconic imagery - in this case animation - that has defined and dominated post-war culture and entertainment’

ART DAILY

‘Harris is the first artist to successfully fuse a classical art and design background with boundary-breaking technology skills, to become the leading light of art’s newest frontier, creating the next generation of master works’

DESIGN EXCHANGE

‘The artist has turned his sights on the information age, utilising cutting edge technology and classical art techniques to create something unique’

EVENING STANDARD

‘Not since the world fell in love with Yayoi Kusama has London fallen for such a triumph of delight’

TREBUCHET MAGAZINE

‘He draws from art history, from the Renaissance preoccupation with still life to pop art (he is the only digital artist permitted to use Disney images). He acknowledges Bill Viola as an inspiration’

CAPITAL REVIEWER

‘Harris is the first artist to successfully fuse a classical art and design background with boundary-breaking technology skills, to become the leading light of art’s newest frontier. His work pushes the envelope of possibility within the digital art medium and redefines the relationship between technology, art and human interaction’

ART RABBIT

‘Harris’s work carries on an artistic tradition where rapid advances in technology allowed for new ways to experiment and for artists to harness this experimentation to produce new works of art that mixed learning and thought with aesthetic consideration. 2019 sees the artist exhibit his first solo exhibition at Halcyon Gallery’
